The footprint is small for its capacity, and includes everything I need to be able to butcher my own sub-primal cuts of meat, and save significant amounts of money. And if I decide I need a second ice maker, I can always add one to this freezer.

The installer told us after he installed it that it would put out a lot of heat and we should run a fan in the garage. Also you should provide a bottom basket to hold items or that space is wasted!

This freezer about 4 days then went out. One whole day I did not need to open the door and on the 5th day I had it, when I opened the door, everything was melted. I lost about $500.00 worth of food that I had transferred from a chest freezer that I had. This is a frostless freezer and I'm assuming that when it went into a defrost mode, it didn't go back to the cooling mode. I have a frostless Whirlpool refrigerator and never had any trouble. I plan to get another freezer but it won't be frostless.

Steer clear of these junky products, I bought my freezer 2 yrs ago and it's already not working. I called customer service and the reply was sorry out of warranty. I get that but 2yrs it's all I can expect from this freezer! Not to mention 900.00 loss in unfrozen food! Now here is where it goes from bad to worse, I call for a repairman and he is unable to fix it because whirlpool has no parts and don't even know if they ever will!!!. So there ya go. I hate to see another person go down the path that I have taken. Find a different product!

Very happy with the recent purchase of an upright freezer, the main reason to switch from a chest freezer was because of organizing and seeing what you have on hand. And also the fact that this has an icemaker that will help replenish the ice use in the house. I keep this upright freezer in the garage and it seems to be functioning very well.

This freezer is what we where looking for, we thought of getting a chest freezer but you can't find anything and if you do it's on the bottom. So we went for an up right freezer. We needed a large one and wanted it to be a Whirlpool they last the longest. Our last one lasted 16 years, and I hope this one last that long or longer.
