I love the ice, dislike the product. I replaced my first Whirlpool ice maker after 7 years, have had my current machine about 4 years and have had nothing but trouble. Whirlpool's extended service which I pay for monthly tried repairing the ice maker in my home and finally had to take it away for about 3 months and rebuild the entire machine. It worked for a couple of months and stopped making ice so they took it away again. The service guarantees replacement of the product if they can't fix it. I've had them out probably 6 times and have complained that by now it should be replaced, I've probably spent way more on the extended service than I would buying a new one but I keep hoping they will stand by their word and replace it as it's for sure a "lemon". It stopped making ice again 2 days ago, I cleaned it and replaced the filter (which I did 3 months ago) today so I am hoping for ice by tomorrow. UGH.....

Super disappointed by the poor workmanship on this Ice maker. For such an expensive purchase over $2000 it lasted just after the warranty was over 1 year and 6 months before the drainage system died completely and is now costing me almost $400 for the part and another $250 for labor. I don't think i will ever purchase a whirlpool appliance again.

We installed the ice machine about 2 months ago and it has been performing great. It makes nice clear ice very quickly. I would recommend this ice machine for those who use a fair amount of ice.

This ice machine has had numerous service calls and I am constantly cleaning it and changing the filter. We had our contractor actually move it away from a beverage refrigerator because we thought the heat generated from that refrigerator was part of the problem, but it was not..It is being pulled out this week and being replaced™¦ very disappointed !

I purchased the item and have been trying to get it serviced since purchase. The unit never worked right out of the box. This was not an installation issue, it is that the condenser fan is not working and therefore, the unit does not make ice. I purchased from our local Home Depot store and their service dept has been terrible. I have no hope of getting the unit fixed. I am requesting a new replacement unit.

We have had this for about a month and it has been great. We use a lot of ice and our previous ice machine finally died after 11 years. We resorted to buying ice at the gas station weekly, breaking it up and putting it in ziplock bags while waiting to get this new one delivered. It™™s working great and we are so happy we have it.

I got this product installed on April. 16, registered it, and was running on fast ice, after removing the first 2 drops of ice it quickly filled up. We were excited, however, I pushed the fast ice button to let it run normally and soon thereafter the unit STOPPED RUNNING COMPLETELY. Had no power to it at all, after checking no breakers thrown and the receptacle was working, my dealer called ASI and they are scheduled to come this afternoon to check it out and fix if possible. NOT A GREAT FIRST IMPRESSION to call the Whirlpool service company in its first week of operation.

I bought this unit for our kitchen remodel to put in bar area. Once opened the Inside panel was cracked, it was replaced no problem. The noise level of making the ice in this machine is too loud, I would not recommend this unit if you wanted a quit ice machine.

Although I bought a month ago it was just installed yesterday, March 2nd. It has made ice ok, however there has been a strange smell coming from it. Today, second day, is not as bad, but still there. I'm not sure what the smell could be. Maybe it's because its new and worked for 24 hours trying to fill the bin. This is the third ice maker we have put in over the last 18 years. We never had this issue before. The other 2 were Kitchen Aid, but this Whirlpool is identical to the other two.

It's a great machine! This isn't my first Whirlpool ice maker. I liked the quality and ice production so much that I ordered this new one for my renovated kitchen. I didn't want to take a chance by ordering a different brand and being disappointed.

Love all of the features but have recently had issues. The LED light in the separate drawer went out, ice maker began overflowing and freezing up, gasket around refrigerator doors tore, grommets on hinge on refrigerator door broke. Thankfully we purchased an extended warranty.

Do not buy a Whirpool product. Ice Maker quit after 30 days. Service calls go through endless loops and levels of support, which are designed to see you give up. The $259.00 extended warranty means nothing in the first year, so that is also waste of money.

Bought this a couple of months ago to replace my older Whirlpool icemaker. Makes ice very well and quantity of ice is excellent. Machine is noisy when filling water. Louder than my older machine. Otherwise very satisfied.

We have only been using this machine for two weeks. I will say that the bin is always full, but I highly doubt that this is capable of producing 50 lbs per day - it took two days to initially fill. The ice is always wet, and the unit seems to constantly add water or generate excess water.
I will say that the ice is clear and the machine is easy to use. It fits well under the wet bar counter, and it looks nice.My biggest complaint is that the sales material described the ice as '3/4" cubes', but what it really produces is 3/4" chips that are only about 1/4" thick. Our main purpose for an ice maker was for entertaining around our pool in the summer, but these chips won't last long in a cooler or a pitcher.

I purchased this 2 weeks ago after my GE Monogram quit after 12 years & im very pleased with the quietness and clear ice it makes. My previous ice maker did not have a filter like this one & I feel so much better about having this addition in assuring clean ice.

Upon receiving the ice maker the delivery guys set it inside our home from Lowes. However, opening it wasn't easy. We found the instructions inside the ice maker after we struggled to take it out of box. Then to remove the small white knob to insert the filter wasn't easy. WE tried really hard to turn it and my husband ended up getting pliers to turn it to remove it.

I bought this ice machine 3 years ago and it has already stopped working, I replaced the pump, control board, condenser and still don™™t work. I contacted whirlpool service and repair and they sent out someone from All American Appliance repair and the man picked it up and said it will be fixed in a week, 3 months later he still has it at his shop and says it™™s working but he wants to make sure it keeps working. 2 weeks go by and I find where they are located and go to get the machine and discover it was never, ever working and still don™™t work. Not sure they even looked at it. Whirlpool should not send out crooked people. They were surprised we found them when we showed up. This machine is not a good machine, my brother had a different brand and I should have bought it. Shame on Whirlpool for dealing with shady appliance repair.

We have only had the icemaker a couple weeks. It makes some noise but produces good amount of ice. they guys that delivered and installed it were fantastic and should be recognized please. They went above and beyond, were patient, and friendly, and just did an overall great job. The only problem-The color should not just say stainless. It was hard for me to see online that the handle, sides and inside were black.

I recently purchased the Whirlpool 15™ ice-maker to replace the GE Monogram 15™ ice-maker I™™ve had for 12 years.
They are very similar in design, but one thing Whirlpool could change is to allow for adjustments (lowering & raising) the thermistor to control how full the ice bin fills with ice. Whirlpool fixes the thermistor in the high position so the machine is always filling to max capacity, which isn™™t needed most of the time; just when entertaining. GE Monogram™™s thermistor is adjustable.

Bought this to replace our old kitchen aid undercounter ice maker which is discontinued, and it is basically exactly the same, which I™™m really happy about. I love the new features, like built in water filter slot and the cheerful sounds it makes when turning it on. I withheld a star because the whirlpool logo on the front isn™™t perfectly straight. It™™s a little sideways and looks goofy, and I would return it for a perfect one if it wasn™™t such a hassle. For something this expensive, I would expect everything to be dialed in. :/

This is my 3rd icemaker in 10 years. I love the ice that it makes, but even after properly maintaining each one, they only seem to last about 3 years! They are extremely expensive™¦cost more than some upgraded refrigerators with icemaker and water dispenser!

Let me start off with I really like the unit. The installation (replacement) was easy. I wasn™™t positive it came with the sump pump ™ which it did.
It seems odd that the unit is nearly exactly the same as the one the previous homeowners purchase seven years ago.
The reason I didn™™t give it five stars is it seems ridiculously expensive. I get it. This is a luxury item, but there™™s no reason that it should cost so much.
