Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Fantastic large oven. Bakers dream!

Lou2 12/27/2023

I had to replace my range after 19 years. The sales people at Orville's Appliances did an excellent job showing the wonderful features of this Whirlpool range.. I was able to add a 4th oven rack and was beyond thrilled to bake 4 extra large sheets of cookies at one time on the "convection bake" feature. That was 112 cookies in 14 minutes! Absolutely wonderful since I bake over 5000 Christmas cookies!

Works well

LeaG 10/18/2023

This stove has been a good replacement for my old tired stove. I like the grills that span the entire surface and the tilt up system for either side lets me easily wipe up spills. With continuous grills it is necessary to be aware that a broad area may be holding heat well after the burner is off. I like that the oven light comes on automatically when door is opened ™€¦ unlike my much older stove. I™€™ve baked a few times with good results, somewhat higher rise to rolls, and good results with pizzas. There are three racks which are more than enough for me. I selected this model because the broiler was in the oven, allowing space for a useful lower drawer for pans and trays. I have yet to use the convection feature but look forward to trying it out. Finally, I greatly enjoy the simmer burner which is perfect for rice and saucing up tomatoes.

Poor quality and inaccurate settings

Forced obsolescence 10/1/2023

Back of range melted above the area where the oven vents. All rangetop burners are inaccurate. It is impossible to simmer anything as the low setting keeps your food, sauces, soups in a heavy rolling boil and will burn the pan.

LOVE THE RANGE

denise 7/15/2023

I had this model for 5 years! Had 5 mths. left on warranty. The oven wouldn't ignite. Had it repaired 3X. The 4thX repair serv. told me to contact Lowes & replace range. This model was not avail. & I needed a range asap (had knee surgery & my mobility was limited). Lowes had a Kitchenaid, said it was very similar to my whirlpool. Got it. The convection oven didn't work. I said, that's it, I want my whirlpool. So, the manager @ Lowes worked w/ me & ordered me my same model. I had to wait a few mths. (used the Kitchenaid in the mean time-hated that range-oven door didn't even close right. I have my whirlpool & I'm SOOOOO HAPPY!!!!!!!! I'm back to cooking up a storm (my husband is happy too & he doesn't have to hear me complain. I LOVE MY WHIRLPOOL!!!!!

Hard to cook at home

Foodie 1/22/2023

One of four-piece suite we bought during a kitchen remodeling. All four burners have too high an output...can't simmer sauces or soups, or sautà vegetables Even the simmer burner is too high. Burners aren't spaced out properly. The oven or the other hand doesn't go high enough ...475 max. Can't make pizzas or sear prime rib. Model selected was stainless steel, but was mostly black, with a few stainless panels in front. The metal was thin, and in particularly the drawer on bottom. We chose Whirpool because it was made in USA and available from Lowes. On a positive note, the flip up grills makes it easy to clean and it boils water fast.

Concerns

dnak 11/22/2022

We bought this Whirlpool gas range in mid-October 2022; the biggest problem with the unit is the oven. We had to schedule service as soon as the range was installed. The oven temperature was low by 25 degrees or more and the stove top burners were so hot that it was impossible to simmer anything. The repairman came within 2 days and adjusted everything very well. Many thanks to Dave! However, the oven racks are flimsy. I roasted a 20-pound turkey and through the oven window could see the rack bow. With a 5.8 cubic foot oven, a 20-pound turkey is not beyond expectation. The Aqua-Lift self-cleaning does not work worth beans. I ran the cycle the morning after roasting the turkey and it was ineffective. The little cleaning kit included with the range is not much help in removing the spatters. Instructions say not to use abrasive cleaners so the only alternative is a lot of elbow grease with a baking-soda paste, white vinegar, and the little plastic scraper they provide. It's useful to remove the oven door to clean such a large oven (there's a video available on the Whirlpool website). That said, ™€œRapid Preheat™€ is good, though the size of the oven requires a longer wait for the entire cavity to get to an even temp. We like the stovetop. The flat grating is nice for easily moving pots and pans. The grates pivot up to the sides so you don™€™t have to lift them off to clean the stovetop. The oval center burner is useful. The dashboard controls are easy to use and the readout gives useful prompts. For the price of this range, I am disappointed but not surprised, as everyone is making their products as cheaply as possible. I've always considered Whirlpool to be a good company, but I can™€™t recommend this product without reservations even though it might be as good as anything available in the price range. I'd say look around a lot to decide what meets your needs and your budget.

Worst appliance company EVER!!

FloM 6/24/2022

Purchased this range along with all other appliances for my kitchen from Whirlpool. Under warrantee frig stopped working. Whirlpool sent THEIR repair rep and was told the frig needed new compressor and multiple other parts. Was over 2 months without frig. Customer service is horrible. Endless lies. When parts FINALLY come in, different repair rep came to install and was told it was a totally different part, a relay switch, which he said is always on their repair trucks and was fixed in minutes. Was promised water filters from the executive offices and they never sent. Just a horrible company.

Here's what to expect from Whirlpool in 3-5 years

ActualWhirlpoolCustomer 3/31/2022

I purchased the fingerprint resistant four piece set about 5 years ago. Problems started after 3 or so years. Response from customer services is sorry, 1-year warranty is expired: Oven & Stove Model Number: WFE7700H0FZ0 Issues: Heating element failed two years ago. $350 to repair. Stovetop control panel glass is cracked or buckling. No reason, no accidental damage. Microwave Model Number: WMH76719CZ-1 Issues: Door sensors began erroring starting last year. Microwave does not know when the door is open/shut and won't let you cook. Refrigerator & Icemaker Model Number: WRF555SDFZ00 Issues: Icemaker stopped working three months ago. Repair man couldn't fix. Spent $200 so far without resolution. Dishwasher Model Number: WDF770SAFZ0 Issues: After about a year of use, does not completely clean dishes, constantly clogs, and a lot of buildup inside even with frequent hand washing of filter and unit.
