we love the machine itself but not the episode we encountered with initial startup! we were informed by the delivery person to run a full load cycle with water and detergent for the first load to ensure any residual oils remaining in the tub from the manufacturing process would be removed. we did that Twice plus ran two loads of old bath towels through the cycles. on the fifth wash cycle with a new pair of white jeans A very dark black substance appeared on the white jeans. After wiping the in side of the tub with a wash cloth it became quite obvious there was still a tremendous amount of black residual left inside. I spent the next 45 minutes wiping with toweling and a brand name degreaser to remove the remaining contaminate. On page #5 of the installers instruction, #3, states to wipe out inside of the washer, page #6, 1, does state to use a all purpose cleaner OR a detergent and water solution and a damp cloth to remove Shipping Dust from inside of washtub. on page 12 of the installer checklist #2, states wipe out inside of washtub. Nothing about using degreaser or any other type of product, with or without water. The remaining substance remaining in my washtub was far more than shipping dust. Be prepared to send a ample amount of time if you would happen to get one of these washers that didn't get rinsed properly of its carbon deposits residuals from the manufavturing process, as was told to me from alliance support. this well beyond what a customer should have to clean to get a proper washing. I am still waitind to hear from Quality control, if indeed it was even sent to them.

Over the last 50+ years, we have bought General Electric Appliances and have been satisfied with them. However the last Washing Machine that we bought was a piece of junk. When bed sheets were being washed in the washer you might as well plan to sit on the Machine to keep it from walking away. From what we found out by talking to others who had a GE Washer they all experienced the same problem. Since we purchased the Speed Queen we haven't had any trouble washing our Bed Sheets or anything else. We paid over twice what a GE would have been but it solved a problem that we had been dealing with for four years. We are well satisfied with our purchase.

My washing machine leaves fabric softener residue in the tub after it is finished, even with the extra rinse option. My dryer emits a constant high pitch whirring noise from the plug in area. Stops when I turn the knob buts starts back up after approximately 30 seconds. We spent a lot of money on these machines based on their reputation. Please advise me of options to fix these issues

Lock was broken the first time I went to use it. Builder says they tested it (I doubt it) but this happens with lots of appliances. Had to submit warranty service before I even did 1 wash. It was diagnosed, parts ordered, and repaired within 2 weeks. Now that it's fixed, it's fine. We didn't want anything with an electronic panel, but I think this does. I do like the auto-sensor for water level, but the panel was confusing with the number of beeps when it would not work. We had this in our old house with manual buttons and we wanted that but that model no longer exists. I think it will be a decent machine but I've only done light loads so far.

I've had it for a month now - it does a great job washing the clothes. It is much quieter than the prior washer I had and is VERY easy to use. One thing I would change is to allow me to rinse out the detergent cup with the lid open at the beginning of the cycle. The machine stops spraying water when the lid is open unless you bypass the safety switch (awkward). This is pretty much the only problem I have with this washer.

3 months old and the washer already won't spin fast enough to wring water out. Calling technical support was an absolute waste of time. No help at all. Was told to just pay someone to fix it. So disappointing for a washer that cost twice as much as the competitor's.
