It's a nice vent hood. I bought it in black hoping it had more of a matte finish, however it is more shiny than matte. Fingerprints do show on it.
The fan is a little on the loud side but it's not like it's running all the time. So, that's not a big deal for me. I don't think it's any louder than most vent hoods.
The light that comes with it isn't very bright so I will be replacing it.
The instructions said it was a 10 minute install. That wasn't the case for us, but my husband installed it and he sometimes makes things more difficult than they need to be. :)

Finally upgraded from a 1984 range hood to this GE product. The sleek and stylish fit and look has made the stove area the highlight of the kitchen. I would also recommend longer screws to secure it.

This range hood looks great and was pretty easy to install, but I would not believe the claim on the box that installation takes 10 minutes! Installation is easier if you move the oven out from under first. The keyhole screw holes are helpful in getting the hood held in place while tightening the screws. I wish the instructions had been more accurate because the wiring instructions only mention two wires from the hood and the actual appliance had three. I had to call an electrician to verify how to connect it. (There were 2 black wires, both of which I connected to the black wire from the power supply.)

was actually quite difficult to assemble and the instructions were somewhat confusing, the lighting was very poor and does not seem to vent as well as expected with a rear discharge set-up, seems to leak air around the blocking plate. the finish and look were very nice and covered more area, i upgraded the light to 100 watt led version and was much better, should not expect too much for the price, would recommend better instructions and also better electrical options for the lead in from home wiring.

The hood really looks good. My problem with the hood is the light. It is not bright enough and should be located near the back or at least nearer the middle so light is spread over the whole cooking area,

Very nice, reasonably priced hood. Comes complete with hardware and excellent instructions. Can be used vented with duct or recycled via charcoal filter. Just what I needed for my little rent house stove.

Bought this to replace a super cheap off brand that had a broken fan. Fits nicely, super easy to set up and install. I love how it can be both a recirculating or a vented fan which makes it useful to keep for kitchen upgrades. However, the fan is way louder than my older unit with a broken fan. Also the light it came with was utterly terrible. The grease filter is flimsy and I bent it trying to put it in. However it's both needed and has a surprisingly good airflow despite the noise, so it's staying.

On the box if was delivered in it state: Easy to install in 10 minutes. Not quite true, you need some one to read the directions and hold the hood fan in place while being installed. It took us at least two hours, and we had to turn the electrical power off.
