This microwave is a replacement for my 21 year old (now that's longevity!) GE microwave of similar capacity and higher wattage. I've been quite pleased with the performance after three months of use. It has a pleasant warm spectrum incandescent light as opposed to the cold LEDs I've seen from other brands, and the build seems robust overall. User can also select any cook time (for example, 12 seconds).
Possible downsides: It's not the quietest model. The magnetron is quite buzzy, but so far this does not appear to relate to performance. There's also no option to mute button presses and alerts, which my previous 1999 GE model had.

We were replacing another countertop microwave, and this one fit in the counter space we have! It has plenty of interior space, which we need, but living in an older home (think 1900), the kitchen lacks workspace. This microwave has been put through its paces, and we are extremely pleased with it.

The microwave works well. However, I was expecting excellent performance based on the reviews. This microwave is made of a poorly thin material, I only have it about four months and the plastic covering the number pad is already peeling off. Definitely more inferior than the Kenmore I had. That's the reason I rate it as 4.

I like the size and the simple touch pad on the microwave. Have not had any issues with this product yet. I have had it for a month and heating food has been even. Defrosting meats has not cooked the meat like some microwaves it actually defrost the meat.

We bought this when we remodeled our kitchen. The first one lasted about 2.5 years and we really don't use it heavily, so I thought that maybe we just got a lemon. Of course the one year warranty was up. Than I just bought another one exactly the same hoping it would last a long time. This one lasted a month and I called customer service. They are now sending me a coupon to purchase a new one. Of course the sale on this unit was last week and now is over and I'm still waiting for this coupon. I really like the style of this microwave and it fits our kitchen well. I hope the third time is a charm. All of our other GE appliances work great and the reviews on this unit are great.

Had a GE microwave for almost 20 years, so figured when it needed replacement, I'd go with GE again. Very disappointed with this one. Door doesn't open easily... push the button and the entire oven moves. No "add 10 seconds" feature like the old oven. All the time controls are counter-intuitive. Just a poor product. The whole point of a microwave is convenience, and this one flunks that test.

I bought this as an upgrade to the 10 year old version of roughly the same model (1.1cf, 1000w) due to size restraints based on the custom shelf it was sitting on. It sits a little taller than the old one, the button configuration is a little counterintuitive - 'time cook' is the farthest it could possibly be from the numbers, and it is way louder (my hope is that the loudness diminishes as the microwave itself warms up - it was in my cold car overnight).

I've had this microwave for a few weeks and it is already making some terrible noises during the heating process. I would have thought this would be a long lasting great microwave, but at the rate its going I don't think it will last as long as hoped.

This looks like a good value (sale $89) and should do us fine.
It only got 4 stsrs beacause:
1. The touchpad is not very brightly lettered and not that easy to read for older eyes.
2. Use instructions were generic and it required experimentation to figure how to operate it.

We wanted a slightly larger microwave to replace our old 0.7 cu. ft. unit and not take up too much additional space. This unit fits the space perfectly.
Express Cook is a great feature as there are less buttons to push to start the unit.

The JES1145SHSS model GE microwave was perfect for my needs. I use a microwave for heating food and coffee mostly. It isn't overly big, is easy to understand. The door opens easily with a push. I think this is a great value for the price and very pleased after 2 months.
