The problem is less to do about Frigidaire appliances and more to do with their customer service being incompetent! I purchased a brand new house with the premium "Chef's kitchen". From day 1, the range hood did not work properly. Contacted customer service and they seemed more interested in selling an extended support agreement. Which ironically, they could include the range hood. I've gone through (on going) 4 separate attempts for service. They keep dispatching technicians to my previous home which is another state. Each time, I confirm the correct location, yet that doesn't help. When I call the service provider directly, half the time they (service provider) did not receive a ticket. Each appointment I'm given, which includes a scheduled time, the service provider will tell me that the appointment is only tentative, because Frigidaire doesn't have access to their scheduling system.So it's clear to me Frigidaire is either incompetent or dishonest...or perhaps both. Frankly I think they are counting on customers to wear down and simply give up. I will never purchase another Frigidaire appliance AGAIN. Even it comes with a new construction home.I would give a lower rating if that were possible.

I echo the previous 1-Star review about the product turning itself on by itself. Mine was in a newly built house. The original was replaced by the builder with a new one which has the same problems. You cannot leave it plugged in as it will eventually turn either the fan, light, or both on. I also found out you cannot get parts for this product. A local repair tech wanted to replace the "Control Board" and Frigidaire Support told him they didn't have a Bill of Materials for the product. I challenge you to search the internet for parts for this product; I couldn't find any. A bad product with bad support.

Well to start... disappointment would be too kind a word for our experience with this unit. We received a defective one that turns on and off by itself. We cannot leave it plugged in or use it at all. When the Frigidaire Tech visited he looked at it and said "it's defective and we can't fix it". Customer Service has been abysmal in getting it replaced under warranty. They have been giving us the runaround for 3 weeks now with no end in sight. 3-5 business days to "review" our claim has turned into needing 10 days and no updates. Apparently a functional appliance is too much to ask for. Do not buy. Find a different range hood if you want to have any ventilation of your cooking space.

This is a great hood system that is quiet and easy to use. However, I would prefer to have a way to lock the controls so that our special needs child is unable to change them.
